How Do I File A Police Or Accident Report?

If you are the victim of a criminal act and it is an emergency, dial 911.

If the act in question is not an emergency, and you reside in an unincorporated area of Noble County, dial (260) 636-2182 (ext 1) for the Dispatch Center of the Noble County Sheriff’s Department. Advise the dispatcher of the nature of your complaint. After obtaining additional information, an officer will be dispatched to your location to continue the investigation. A police report may also be filed in person at the Noble County Sheriff’s Department, which is located at 210 S. 7th Street, Albion, Indiana. In either situation, a police report may be filed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

How Do I Obtain A Copy Of A Police or Accident Report?

You may purchase a copy of your report online through buycrash.com.  (Crash Report only) Additionally, the records section of our department is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., if you’d like to pick one up in person. The cost is $5.00 per report.

To assist in obtaining a crime summary or crash report, please provide at least two (2) of the following identifiers with the specified fee:

  • Name of the subject(s) involved
  • Date and time of the incident
  • Location of the incident
  • Description of the incident

Crash reports may not be available until five (5) working days after a report is filed with the Sheriff’s Department. The fee to obtain a crash report is specified on the left side of your screen in our department’s fee schedule.. Payment must either be made by cash or money order made payable to Noble County Sheriff’s Department.

To obtain a crash report via the mail, your request must have at least two (2) of the identifiers as noted above. The fee to obtain a crash report is stated on the left side of your screen in our department’s fee schedule.

A crime summary report may be obtained only in person Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.The fee for a copy of a crime summary is stated on the left side of your screen in our department’s fee schedule.
